Colours are amazing! Everyone can agree on that. Put in the right way, they can hold emotions, story and character! My watercolour teachers taught me that even different saturation can have different vibes. Colouring is my favorite part of the drawing process, and I think every colour and their combinations are amazing, despite people saying some should not be used.
Green and purple, low contrast, black shading, a selection of the many things people hate that involve colour. I'm sure you came across an art tip on the internet that screamed "ONLY SHADE WITH COLOURS!" or a teacher telling you that blue and red together is an eyesore, but I think nothing is forbidden.
Low contrast can fit a character that is a ghost who fades into the background. Black shading can make things look more serious, green and purple is great (especially on dragons)! What I'm saying is don't let the made up rules scare you into not experimenting, you might discover something that you would never thought would work.
I say this from experience and it took me a long time to figure out how to experiment again.
